Starting a conversation:

Formed 25 years ago with an aim to create a unique environmental, planning and sustainability consultancy service, Temple began their journey. Years later their aquisition of The Ecology Consultancy and Arbeco, coupled with their success in the market place, Temple realised they needed to reinvigorate and refresh their brand as part of a strategy to enhance their reputation as leaders in the environmental field. And so our collaboration began…

To kick off the project we worked closely with the Temple directors and marketing team to assign the key objectives. It was vital that everyone at Temple felt involved in the rebrand, so we created a microsite to inform all Temple employees with what was happening and how the process would work. Brand ambassadors were chosen to work as a link between Chalk and the wider Temple team during the process.

Where did it start?

The old Temple brand and website was dated and didn’t represent where they were in the market. We created a new stand out brand that shows them as leaders in their field.

We created a new logo for Temple that marries the rigid straight lines of the built environment with the softer, organic lines of the natural environment. We created secondary logo “stamps” using the ’t’ from the Temple logo and these are applied using various textures and materials that Temple work with.

We worked extensively with stakeholders at the company to understand how they perceived it and how they felt the company should be positioned.

This deep insight meant we were able to deliver a conversational, dynamic and flexible visual identity utilising a colour palette combining a suite of colours from the sophisticated to the playful.

We wanted to create a flexible, future proof brand that would work for years and across web and print. Using the brand ingredients we developed a process of applying the brand ingredients to various scenarios.
